Katrina started acting locally at the age of five. She was an active member of the Focus Theatre workshops and performed with several amateur groups.  She studied drama at GCSE and A Level, during which time she also completed her LAMDA teaching qualifications in Acting and Verse & Prose.

At 17, Katrina won the 'most promising performer' award in the All England Theatre Festival, and subsequently represented the UK at the finals of the International Drama Festival in Delhi, India.

She went on to do a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts before starting the London Bus Theatre Company.  This 'theatre in education' company worked in local schools using various performance techniques and theories to address issues of bullying and drug use.

In 1995 she went to study Theatre and Creative Arts in Manchester.  After graduating in 1998 with a BA Honours degree, she worked as an event producer for the prestigious global communications company, Imagination.  Her clients included Guinness, Tate Modern, Ford Motor Company, Sky TV and Warner Brothers. In this role she worked with performers across multiple disciplines to produce large scale live events, Gala dinners and product launches.  Part of the job included giving vocal training to company CEOs and other speakers.

In 2003 Katrina left Imagination to start her own company, Earth Designs.  Between 2003 and 2011 she also worked part-time teaching drama to young theatre groups in East London.
